Even this temple said to be my hometown , I would like say something about this temple in order to know about its history which is older than 1000 years

1.This is the thanthondreshwarar temple at akkur at mayavaram.

2.This temple is called as the padal petra stalam.

3.This temple had been recognized by saiva nalvar appar, sundarar,sambandar and manikavasagar.  The four people(saiva naalvar) visited this temple.

4.The idle of Lord natrajar and sivagami is bigger than chidambaram ,also one of the most oldest.

5.Among saiva naalvar
Sambandhar and thirunaavukarasar came to the temple  sang devaram

6.This is the Lord natraja and sivagami sannidhi, which is one of the old type of statue .

7.During thiruvadurai when natrajar and sivagami idle comes out manikavasagar will come and sing here.

8.When lord shiva destroyed yamaneshwara at thirukadaiyur , first he rose from this temple (suyambu) and then went to protect markandeyar

9.The lingam here came by self called as suyambu lingam.

10.This temple indicates the hometown for one of the nayanar among 63 , SIRAPULI NAYANAR from akkur.
